Writing Is Hard Work
Hi Kelly,
ReplyDeleteI've been dealing with (Asian) politics for the last years. In the recent two weeks I (finally!) decided that freelance journalism would complement my upcoming and related PhD studies well. Also, I'm really interested in explaining Asia to Western readers better than it has been done so far in the mainstream media as I believe that there's still a huge amount of mis-communication and mis-interpretation going on.
To make a long story short: Google pointed me towards your blog post about the Dollars and Deadlines eBook. I believe and hope for it to give me a good overview about what I'd be getting into - and which pitfalls to avoid. Thus, I'd be happy to read the eBook and review it afterwards.
Hello Kelly,
ReplyDeleteI came across your name in a recent issue of Writer's Digest and thought I would check out your blog. Dollars and Deadlines would be a wonderful addition to my current reading list and help me on my way. Since I work in Collection Development of a large public library system, I have the ability to suggest a purchase that is available from our vendor and submit reviews on our website. I would enjoy the opportunity to read and review your publication, Kelly. Thank you for your consideration.
Going Global, your PDF is on the way! Anonymous, I need your email address to send you a copy! Email me at kelly at becomebodywise.com and I'll get it to you--thanks! :)
ReplyDeleteKelly, I recently came across your name in both The Writer and Writer's Digest and decided to look you up. I started freelance writing 6 months ago for parent magazines and would love to shift from my day job to writing full time. There is so much to learn in this industry and your blog is a great source! I was thrilled to read that you are in Downers - I am just down the street in Naperville. I would love to review your book if given the opportunity. Thanks for considering me!
ReplyDeletePam, what a coincidence! Please send me your email address so I can get you a copy, and thank you! :)
DeleteOops! I didn't leave you a way to contact me. My email is pmmolnar@aol.com. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteAn Aspiring Writer and An Avid Reader-
ReplyDeleteHi Kelly,
I recently learned about your blog in the latest edition of Writers Digest. I am exploring working as a freelance writer. I have had a few articles published, though, I have written for pleasure more than for profit. I am always reading and I love learning. I would love to learn from reading your book. I would be excited to write a review of your book and to share it with others. Also I would be quite happy to be a successful freelance writer and to give you credit as one of my mentors. Thanks for considering me.
Hi Kelly,
ReplyDeleteHow about "peanut butter and jelly sandwiches aren't really pleasing my taste buds any more and I could stand to make more money from my writing" as an answer? Plus I have so much downtime at my desk job that writing a delicious review would be a welcome change to pretending like I'm busy. Not to mention I have a couple of your other books and really enjoy them.
Looking forward to reading it either way!
Thanks,
Great answer, Amanda--please send me your email address! :)
DeleteTruthfulHeart, please send me your email and thank you! :)
ReplyDeleteI have bought and benefited from your books Six Figure Freelancing and Ready Aim Specialize and recommend them to all who ask about great books for writers. I have been a part-time freelancer for around 30 years, but have only recently gone full-time and find navigating the online world of markets exciting but time consuming and confusing. I've no doubt your book will shed a lot of light on the subject just as your others did.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see and review it.
I've been freelancing for a bit but I fear I'm not going about it in the most efficient manner. And I'd really prefer not to have to live off ramen. Never liked it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment, Isabel! I too don't care for ramen--ate too much of it in college! Please send me your email! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Kelly,
ReplyDeleteThanks again for your help with my Ebyline article. I would like to review your book as inspiration to take the advice I listed in my blog article. :)
