Writing Is Hard Work
There are so many reasons why I love freelancing! But here's just one: I can write about absolutely anything.
ReplyDeleteOne reason I love freelancing is that the possibilities are endless so long as I work hard, network plenty and am willing to give it my all!
ReplyDeleteOne reason? The main one is that I have much more autonomy. We like autonomy!
ReplyDeleteOne reason I love freelancing is because I get to meet the most amazing writers who share such great advice, like you, Kelly. Kiss-Kiss. LOL. I'll go read your tips at ASJA.org now. Can't wait. I have a few ebooks in my future.
ReplyDeleteOnly one reason. Wow, you made this hard!
ReplyDeleteI love freelancing because there is no ceiling - I can grow and climb as high as I want, stopping only when *I* say to, not when a boss or corporation, or rules tell me.
I love the freedom of time and place. I can write when and where I like and to a large extent ( so long as it's of interest to readers) what I like.
ReplyDeleteI agree with everyone: autonomy, no ceiling, meeting amazing writers...and having the flexibility to be the mom that I want to be!
ReplyDeleteFlexible schedule and the opportunity to travel and learn new things I never would have been exposed to in my last career.
ReplyDeleteI love freelancing because I learn so much about topics I never would have heard about otherwise. I'm working on a piece about cloud computing right now, and the research has been so interesting!
ReplyDeleteFreelancing allows me to run with my imagination and push past my preconceived definition of myself.
ReplyDeleteHi there,
ReplyDeleteI am a lurker/follower....love your posts.
I love freelancing because I have control over what I will do and what I won't do, how much and how often.....if I do alot, that's great, that's my own doing. If I don't do anything, don't get out there and sell myself and my work, then I am responsible for it.
Thank you for these great posts.

I love freelancing because it allows me to write about things I enjoy, meet people I'd never have the courage to approach otherwise and best of all, I can shut shop (or work overtime) when I want to! (The money is not bad either.)
ReplyDeleteWorking outside in the fresh spring air, drinking iced tea and still meeting my deadlines!
ReplyDeleteOne reason: getting paid to learn! :-)
ReplyDeleteI love having the flexibility to say "yes" to my kids. I also love beig able to work in my jammies, a coffee shop, the playground, whatev....:)
ReplyDeleteI love freelancing because I can focus on the work. Not on what I'm wearing to work, not on commuting or office politics or whether I have to leave early to pick up my children -- when I have a freelance gig, it's all about doing the work of writing.
ReplyDeleteI love freelancing because it gave me the chance to learn a new and profitable trade while still being available for my children during their formative years. I also love that I still get a thrill when a new assignment or article sale comes into my inbox, and the rejections are pretty few and far between now for my nonfiction work.
ReplyDeleteI love freelancing because I've met so many wonderful people through interviews, and I've learned so much. I enjoy sharing what I learn with readers, and promoting worthy causes, businesses, and organizations. As a freelancer, I'm doing work that makes a difference.
