If I still got no response from that, then I'd send a new query...but if I continued to have zero response, I'd cut bait and move on to more promising markets. Just my $0.02.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12518158232642872324noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7956176634474051220.post-5728638638371861562010-08-24T08:04:06.938-07:002010-08-24T08:04:06.938-07:00Thanks for this tip, Kelly. After what amount of time is it appropriate to send along a second query despite not hearing back?Joannahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18079612209013739152noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7956176634474051220.post-4719727285765552762010-08-23T16:19:13.527-07:002010-08-23T16:19:13.527-07:00Hi, Carol--

Then I'd make a note of it and pitch that first week of the year, referencing your email...showing that you're a pro and do what you'll say you do. You could also do a two-idea query if you want to pitch more than one idea at the time. That's what I'd suggest, anyway. :)<br /><br />Hope this helps! <br />KellyAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12518158232642872324noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7956176634474051220.post-44431229499250454782010-08-23T13:46:38.715-07:002010-08-23T13:46:38.715-07:00Been trying to send new query in response to a rej...Been trying to send new query in response to a rejection then I got this, "Our editorial calendar is full for 2011. Try again after the first of the year."<br />If magazines only accept queries during certain times of the year, then is it okay to not wait for a response on one before you send another? I feel like the way they operate, you only have time for one shot in a year.Home Instructed Studentshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14499078929352419868noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7956176634474051220.post-4020806656714423312010-08-22T19:45:58.075-07:002010-08-22T19:45:58.075-07:00Great way to have an editor give you a second glan...Great way to have an editor give you a second glance while your name is (vaguely) fresh in his or her memory.
